Microbiology Overview

This course covers principles of microbiology and the impact these organisms have on man and the environment. Topics include the various groups of microorganisms, their structure, physiology, genetics, microbial pathogenicity, infectious diseases, immunology, and selected practical applications.

Practicum in Health Science: DC at GC: CNA/Phlebotomy, LVN, EMT, Surgical Technician, Medical Admn., R&D

The Practicum is designed to give students a practical application of previously studied knowledge and skills. Practicum experiences can occur in a variety of locations appropriate to the nature and level of experience.

It will help students to pursue a career in the health science industry, students should learn to reason, think critically, make decisions, solve problems, and communicate effectively. Students should recognize that quality health care depends on the ability to work well with others.  Those students who want to begin the LVN program while in high school must be college-ready satisfied and complete CNA & Phlebotomy during the junior year.
